Nebius, a prominent player in the global AI infrastructure sector, has announced its official entry into the UK market with the deployment of NVIDIA’s next-generation Blackwell Ultra GPUs. This strategic move marks a significant step in bolstering Britain’s AI capabilities and aligns with national objectives to strengthen domestic computing power across key sectors.
By integrating hundreds of Blackwell Ultra GPUs into its infrastructure, Nebius aims to support a broad spectrum of British users – from emerging startups and public institutions to large enterprises and academic research communities. The deployment, expected to be fully operational by the fourth quarter of 2025, is positioned to deliver one of the most advanced AI compute environments currently available. This includes support for AI development in critical domains such as finance, biomedical sciences, and public healthcare, including the NHS.
The UK installation forms part of Nebius’s broader global expansion. With this launch, the company will operate seven AI clusters across six countries in Europe, the United States, and the Middle East. These developments position Nebius among the largest independent builders of AI infrastructure globally. The company leverages NVIDIA’s accelerated computing architecture to deliver the performance of a supercomputer with the adaptability of a hyperscale cloud provider.
As the first NVIDIA Cloud Partner headquartered in Europe to adopt the Blackwell Ultra platform, Nebius continues to advance its standing at the forefront of AI infrastructure development. Its UK-based deployment supports the broader goals outlined in the UK government’s AI Opportunities Action Plan, which prioritizes local compute availability and aims to foster a more resilient, innovation-driven AI economy. The presence of high-performance computing resources is expected to stimulate job creation and attract further investment into the UK’s growing AI ecosystem.
In-House R&D
Nebius’s UK operations are backed by a local team, including in-house AI research and development based in London. This team contributes to proprietary advancements and ensures the company’s AI Cloud platform evolves in alignment with the needs of developers and enterprise users. This in-house capability is a strategic differentiator that sets Nebius apart from other emerging cloud providers, commonly referred to as ‘neoclouds.’
The company has already introduced a specialized solution aimed at the biotech, life sciences, and healthcare sectors. Early adopters in the UK include research institutions like the London Institute of Mathematical Sciences, along with firms across the financial services and generative AI domains.
By delivering next-gen compute power through locally hosted infrastructure, Nebius is positioned to play a key role in the UK’s digital future. Its presence underscores a broader trend of increasing AI specialization in the infrastructure layer, driven by the convergence of public policy, private investment, and the rapid acceleration of generative and agentic AI technologies.
