RETN Boosts Italian Network with Milan–Padua High-Speed Fiber Route

Global network services provider RETN has unveiled a new fiber optic route connecting Milan and Padua, strengthening its national infrastructure and enhancing low-latency connectivity as part of its broader expansion strategy in Italy.

The newly launched 360-kilometer line integrates into RETN’s 140,000-kilometer global network and is engineered for performance. According to the company, the Milan to Ponte San Pietro (Bergamo) segment is now the shortest and most optimized link available on the market—a key advantage for latency-sensitive sectors such as financial services.

The route is anchored by key Points of Presence at Milan’s Caldera Campus and Padua’s VSIX internet exchange, with an important transit through the Aruba Data Center in Ponte San Pietro. Aruba, a carrier-neutral provider, plays a vital role in supporting this expansion by offering a strategic hub for network development.

RETN designed the new line to meet the needs of businesses that treat connectivity as a strategic asset. In addition to providing ultra-fast response times and increased reliability, the infrastructure is geared toward enterprises requiring greater bandwidth to support advanced digital services and large-scale data operations.

Italian Businesses

Milko Ilari, Head of Southern Europe at RETN, emphasized the significance of the development. “This new route reaffirms our ongoing commitment to the Italian market and represents a concrete milestone toward interconnecting with RETN’s Eastern European network,” he said. “Connecting Milan and Padua through optimized infrastructure gives Italian businesses a real advantage in performance, scalability, and access to international markets.”

The move underscores RETN’s push to strengthen Italy’s position as a digital bridge between Western and Eastern Europe.
