Know About PAN Card Correction

A permanent account number (PAN) is the most significant card for all taxpayers in India. All taxpayers require a PAN card to file taxes, and the card is legal identity proof. It becomes essential that you provide correct information to avoid any issues in the future. If you notice some essential PAN card detail that mismatches factual records, you have to correct it.

The Government of India announced mandatory identity links with the PAN card, like the Aadhaar Card under KYC requirements. It was obligatory to take this step to track and hack the false identities and keep a check on tax evasion.

What Is PAN card

The income tax department provides a permanent account number with an alphanumeric 10-digit serial number to each taxpayer in the country. It elevates all the relevant financial transactions and uses this card to evaluate a company or individual liabilities to prevent fraud and pending taxes.

For this reason, all personal details provided for a PAN card must be authentic and genuine. If you notice some misrepresented information on the card, follow the guidelines below to correct the information. There are two routes, online and via post.
